Having finally decided to buy a better lighter than the junky free promotional ones, when I saw there was a new usb-powered style, I figured that would be better than having to go buy gas for it! I've had it for a few weeks, I have a few thoughts now.It has a decent enough battery life, though it is absolutely like the difference between having a smartwatch vs a Casio in battery life (days vs years). It doesn't last ages on a charge, but it is also quick to charge. The indicator telling you how much charge it has, could definitely also be a bit more accurate. But I do love being able to charge it from the wall, a computer or, in a pinch, a usb power bank! Feels a lot more sturdily-built, too - I bought it after like the 5th time a cheap lighter broke after not very long. I haven't had this a long time yet, but I feel like it'll last a while.Depending on what you're trying to light, this could be great or not so great. For lighting candles, it's great all-around. For lighting, in my case, a joint, it's also great. It's especially great in the wind, where it works great and feels safe, vs any cheap gas-powered type lighter, which at best, won't work, and at worst, feels dangerous to have right around your face in even the tiniest breeze sometimes. So that's quite nice. For, again in my particular case, smoking from a water pipe, you still get the much better wind protection, but it's also not quite as directional as a traditional lighter, so sometimes it takes a bit more effort to light, and can be hard to get the right distance away to light what you're trying to light, without getting too close and getting it too hot. Still often worth it, given how often it's, again, vs the competition, even the tiniest bit breezy.I haven't tried using it to smoke a drink or a food dish yet since I got it, but I imagine it'd do pretty well at that, too, in a pinch.Gave as a gift to my husband. He loved it. Got lots of compliments on the look of it. The first one stopped taking a charge after a few months. Is inexpensive, so I bought him another. It lasted even less time. 2 in under 9 months. Not buying again.I love it’s design and way of lighting, especially the fact it takes no butane so it will last you a lifetime. One thing I wish could be better is the top of it should slide down the back of the device to be more compact so it’s easier to light candles. I know that will never happen tho so it’s a moot point, it’s amazing at what it does but if you only want a candle lighter look for another productI really like this. I've had it for a couple years now and the only thing that isn't perfect is that the 5 second safety feature no longer works. Honestly that's not a big deal to me. The battery life is decent and it charges fast. After using it I realized that butane lighters taste horrible and give me a headache. Everyone should switch to this. This is my second one. The first lasted only a few months but was still cheaper than all the disposable lighters I'd been buying. I do wish it had a bit more battery power and a better angle. This is a great looking lighter. The only annoying thing is the battery life is pretty bad. You can test it out yourself, charge it fully and light it and hold the button down until it stops working. Takes like a minute. Obviously people aren't just holding it for a straight minute in normal use but over a day of smoking this thing won't last. It’s a good lighter but sometimes my joint burns uneven and if that happens often the battery doesn’t last that long i smoke 3 joints and then it dies, but it still a good lighter it’s very precise when you light it, it’s a good weight, and looks nice.4-10-22: Addition to my original review below. The lighter I got worked great for about 2 weeks, then died. I followed the process for replacing the lighter last week & the new lighter came today, a Sun. I know things break, so I still - for now - stand by my 1st review. I'm really impressed by how quickly the seller responded to the problem. I have faith in my new lighter, but...let's see how long this one lasts.Had never heard of a plasma lighter before, much less used one. This lighter works beautifully - within some parameters. First, it does get real hot. You should be able to light anything you've got to - uh - burn. Pls forgive the crappy pics. Photographer's fault. The lighter is a beautiful piece of work. Available in silver (mine) & gold. The continuity of the art is spot on as the dragon wraps around front & back. Caveats: The plasma arcs, while hot, don't have any reach. It doesn't get far into a pipe. If you use a pipe with a metal bowl be careful not to let the arcs contact the metal. Most important question - would I buy this again? You betcha! May be gifts in the future. A+ for the seller.it was smaller than I thought, but it has a nice weight to it and I kinda like how small it is as it can just fit in my pocket without looking too much like one. The design is well worth the money and the packaging were well done as well.
